Experience

Gordon's goal in training is to make sure that you and your dog know what to do, when to do it and how to do it.  While doing this, he adds real world situations to the training, which makes it both effective and fun.  This way, you have more fun while being trained, and your dog will have an easier time learning because they see that you are happy, and it makes your dog happy to make you happy.

Gordon Brennan learned how to train dogs with the old fashioned apprenticeship.  His education was primarily from Captain Arthur J. Haggerty.  Captain Haggerty is the pioneer in the field of dog training.  It has been said that he did for dogs what the Beatles did for rock and roll. He is considered to be “the man who trained the trainers” and “made dog training a respected profession.”  Many methods and techniques used today were developed by the Captain.

In 1993, Gordon began training with Captain Haggerty in the Palm Beaches in Florida and has gained great experience along the way.  He now lives in Northern New Jersey and is now helping people and their dogs in New York and New Jersey.

Gordon earned his Bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2000.  He believes that the best way to train a dog, is actually to train the dog's person or people.  "It doesn't do the student any good if the dog works for the trainer, but not the student".

Gordon has also:

Directed the dog training classes for the volunteers at Peggy Adams’ Animal Rescue League in Palm Beach.

Saved many dogs that were incorrectly labeled as “aggressive” from being euthanized through proper training , conditioning and owner education.

Was selected by the Humane Society of the Palm Beaches to develop shelter dog training programs for the volunteers and staff.

Hosted numerous seminars focusing on such challenges as aggression towards other dogs, aggression towards people, electronic collar training and working with shelter dogs with fear and aggression issues.

Assisted Captain Haggerty in Los Angeles at a seminar concentrating on dog aggression and other dominance challenges.

Is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator.
